Purpose
The director for accreditation and evaluation provides strategic leadership for institutional and programmatic accreditation, continuous quality improvement, and evaluation activities across the School of Nursing. This position oversees the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of accreditation and evaluation initiatives using project management principles to ensure timely, compliant, and data-informed outcomes. The director serves as a collaborative leader who coordinates cross-functional teams, manages complex project portfolios, mitigates risks, and supports a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Accreditation Leadership
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all programmatic and institutional accreditation activities in partnership with academic leadership, faculty committees, and administrative departments.
- Monitor changes in accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with accrediting organizations and coordinate accreditation site visits.
- Represent the School on institutional committees related to accreditation, assessment, strategic planning, and quality improvement.
Project management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive accreditation calendars, timelines, and deliverables to ensure compliance with accrediting agencies and submission of accreditation reports
- Facilitate cross-functional project teams involving faculty, administrators, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate competing priorities across multiple initiatives while ensuring alignment with the School’s strategic objectives.
Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Direct comprehensive assessment and evaluation processes supporting academic programs, student learning outcomes, faculty effectiveness, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with faculty and leadership to identify measurable outcomes and performance indicators.
- Translate evaluation findings into actionable recommendations that support continuous quality improvement.
- Oversee systems for collecting, maintaining, and reporting accreditation and assessment data.
- Coordinate preparation, review, and submission of recurrent regulatory and compliance reports to relevant agencies (e.g., CCNE, SACSCOC, TX Board of Nursing, U. S. News and World Report, etc.)
Continuous Quality Improvement
- Design processes for monitoring key performance indicators and organizational effectiveness.
- Facilitate action planning based on assessment findings and accreditation recommendations.
- Track implementation of improvement initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness over time.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing, higher education, educational leadership, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, healthcare, or a related setting involving accreditation, assessment, evaluation, quality improvement, institutional effectiveness, or academic administration.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading programmatic and/or institutional accreditation processes.
- Experience managing complex, multi-phase projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and continuous quality improvement principles in higher education.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data to support decision-making and accreditation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain project timelines, monitor progress, and ensure completion of deliverables.
- Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports, self-studies, and regulatory submissions.
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using databases, data visualization, survey platforms, or assessment management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within an accredited school or college of nursing.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and reporting requirements for organizations such as:
- Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
- Texas Board of Nursing (or other state boards of nursing)
- Experience with institutional assessment, student learning outcomes assessment, and program evaluation.
- Formal training or certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or similar methodologies).
- Experience facilitating continuous quality improvement initiatives using established improvement frameworks (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma, Baldrige).
- Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority.
- Experience supporting strategic planning and institutional effectiveness initiatives.
- Experience preparing external reports for ranking organizations or regulatory agencies.
Salary Range : $90,000+

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.----
