Class A CDL Yard Spotter | Monday - Friday | Stockton, CA

Road Warrior Staffing is hiring an experienced Yard Spotter Driver / Yard Hostler for a full-time, home-daily position.

This is a great opportunity for a Class A driver who wants to get off the road and work a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

The Yard Spotter Driver is responsible for moving trailers between loading docks and designated areas within a warehouse or customer property. Drivers do not leave the property, except when necessary to fuel the equipment.

This position primarily involves operating a yard goat/yard truck, moving trailers from docks and placing trailers into designated dock positions.

Yard Spotter experience is preferred but not required. Training is provided for qualified Class A drivers who have not previously worked as a yard spotter.

No long-haul or OTR driving
Driver remains on customer property
Occasional Saturday work based on customer needs
Yard Spotter/Yard Hostler training provided

Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience

Duties

The Yard Spotter Driver will be responsible for:

Moving trailers within the warehouse or customer property using a yard goat/yard truck.
Pulling trailers from loading docks.
Placing trailers into designated loading docks.
Moving trailers safely and efficiently throughout the yard.
Operating commercial truck and trailer equipment in a safe manner.
Maintaining a good driving record.
Following all applicable safety procedures and company requirements.
Ensuring trailers are positioned correctly for loading and unloading operations.
Maintaining good customer relations by acting in a courteous and professional manner.
Supporting efficient warehouse and dock operations.
Fueling equipment when necessary.
Completing other yard-related duties as assigned.
No Over-the-Road Driving

This is a yard-only driving position.

The driver does not leave the customer property, other than when necessary to obtain fuel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
Must possess a valid Medical Card.
Must maintain a qualifying driving record.
Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position.
Driving Record Requirements

Candidates must meet the following safety requirements:

No reckless driving based on applicable state-specific guidelines reported on the MVR.
No DUI within the last 5 years.
No more than 1 at-fault accident in any vehicle within the last 3 years.
Must maintain a safe and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements

The Yard Spotter Driver must be able to:

Lift up to 50 pounds.
Bend, stand, and walk for multiple hours during a shift.
Repeatedly climb in and out of a commercial truck.
Be physically capable of climbing in and out of the truck approximately 20–30 times per day.
Safely perform the physical requirements associated with moving trailers and working in a warehouse yard environment.
Yard Spotter Experience

Previous Yard Spotter, Yard Hostler, Yard Driver, or Yard Goat experience is preferred but not required.

Training will be provided to qualified Class A drivers who do not have previous yard spotter experience.
