Mechanical Engineer, Eagleeye Lead mechanical design and prototyping of Army wearable vision system. Location: Costa Mesa, California, United States Compensation: $129,000 - $170,000 USD per year. About The Role Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on advancing military capabilities with modern technology such as AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion. The Warfighter Systems division develops mixed‑reality and wearable technologies to enhance situational awareness and operational effectiveness. What You'll Do As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a team that creates a new Army vision system using multi‑spectral sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic protection. Your responsibilities include prototyping, evaluation, and design of wearable systems that meet stringent military specifications and SWAP‑C requirements while balancing human‑factor needs for comfort and durability. Qualifications BS, M.Eng, MS or PhD in an engineering field 2+ years Mechanical Engineering Experience CAD skills (any platform) and ability to manage complex parts and assemblies High competencies with: Detailed mechanical design for traditional and additive manufacturing from prototype through production with metallics and composites Ergonomics and Human Factors: Designing for comfort, fit, and usability for prolonged wear in tactical environments Structural Analysis: Performing finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate hardware performance under impact and stress conditions Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of techniques for fabricating and assembling materials, including molding, laminating, and machining Thermal and Environmental Considerations: Understanding how temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors affect materials and performance Must be a U.S. person & eligible to attain a U.S. Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications Consumer electronics packaging and design, design for cameras, displays, SoC integration, and ruggedization Experience with military qualification programs and MIL‑STD requirements Experience with NX/Teamcenter, including FEA extensions Experience rapid prototyping and iterating with 3D printed assets Benefits Healthcare Benefits US Roles: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost to you.
