Litigation Associate AttorneyMadison, WI 53703OverviewPosition Type Full TimeDescriptionDeWitt LLP is seeking a motivated and collaborative Litigation Associate Attorney to join our Madison, Wisconsin office with an interest or experience in trust and estates litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on a variety of litigation matters for established firm clients, while also encouraging the development of the associate's own professional network and client relationships.Our attorneys work in a collegial, team-oriented environment that values strong advocacy, practical problem-solving, and exceptional client service.The Associate Attorney will support partners in managing litigation matters for the firm's established client base while also building their own professional practice through networking and relationship development. The position involves a diverse range of civil litigation matters, including trusts and estates, business disputes, contract disputes, and real estate and construction disputes.Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilitiesAssist partners in the representation of clients in a variety of civil litigation mattersConduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefsParticipate in discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and preparing deposition outlinesAttend depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as appropriateCollaborate with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and client communicationMaintain strong relationships with existing firm clients through responsive and high-quality serviceParticipate in professional networking and business development activities to cultivate new client relationshipsStay current on legal developments relevant to litigation practiceQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the Wisconsin State Bar, or eligibility for admission5 or more years of litigation experience preferred (judicial clerkship experience is valued)Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication abilitiesInterest in developing long-term legal practice and client relationships in the Madison communityAbility to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a team-oriented environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompensation is competitive and will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualificationsBonus opportunities based on performance and productivityComprehensive benefits package, which include:Health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with firm contributionPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development and bar dues supportNetworking and business development opportunitiesAbout DeWitt LLPDeWitt LLP is a full-service law firm with offices across Wisconsin and Minnesota.
