Payroll Associate
A reputable financial services firm in New York City is looking to add a Payroll Associate to its expanding team. This hybrid position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000–$80,000 along with bonus eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Support payroll processing for approximately 500 employees across multiple states on bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll functions, including W-2 preparation, amended filings, and taxable benefit reporting
- Ensure payroll activities are completed accurately and within designated deadlines
- Process and reconcile employee timekeeping and attendance information within payroll systems
- Review payroll records to verify accuracy of wages, deductions, tax withholdings, and benefit contributions
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance teams on payroll reporting, audits, and special projects
- Manage payroll-related payments, including garnishments and vendor invoices
- Address employee payroll questions and support timely issue resolution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll, accounting, or related experience
- Experience within the financial services industry is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information
