About the Role

The Company is seeking an SVP for Internal Audit with a focus on banking. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and enhance the internal audit function within a stable and growing financial institution. The role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of controls to manage and mitigate risk, as well as to protect the company's assets. Key responsibilities include providing recommendations to management and the Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with a wide range of banking regulatory requirements, and developing and maintaining the internal audit department's purpose, authority, and responsibility. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and a background in bank audit with a strong understanding of GAAP, FASB, and Federal and State regulations. Experience in consumer or community banking is highly valued. The role involves developing and executing an audit plan based on risk assessment, overseeing the implementation of the plan, and coordinating with third-party auditors and regulators. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying and recommending third-party audit consultants, as well as monitoring and reporting on the resolution of audit findings. Professional standards of conduct, technical competence, and a commitment to continuing education are essential for this position.
