Staff Auditor/Accountant – Myers and Stauffer LC, Des Moines, IA. Exempt/Non‑Exempt: Exempt. Scheduled Hours: 40 per week. What We Offer Health, dental, and vision insurance for eligible associates Vacation, sick days, and paid holidays Paid parental leave and support resources 401(k) with company matching for eligible employees Tuition reimbursement, referral bonuses, paid volunteer time, mentor program, and other employee perks Technical and leadership development training at every career milestone Up to six counseling sessions per year through the Employee Assistance Program Essential Functions and Primary Duties Perform reviews of Medicaid provider cost reports Analyze health‑care provider financial information Conduct reimbursement calculations Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions Conduct desk reviews and on‑site audits Research billing and reimbursement compliance with Medicaid or other government regulations Perform all audit phases: planning, research, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and related procedures Review federal and state policies and regulations relevant to each audit type Prepare working papers documenting scope and findings per Medicaid, other program regulations and AICPA standards Demonstrate excellence in communication, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and process improvement Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information during analysis Maintain thorough electronic documentation Other responsibilities as assigned Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting or a related field CPA or CPA candidate Internship or equivalent work experience in accounting or a related field Experience in health‑care auditing and data analysis Ability to review statutory/regulatory or policy language and apply requirements Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Highly organized with attention to detail Proactive multi‑tasking, planning, and efficiency Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) Willingness to travel based on client and business needs Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field Reasonable Accommodation If you are a qualified individual with a disability, you may request reasonable accommodation by calling View phone number on click.appcast.io (toll free) or emailing View email address on click.appcast.io.
