Job Title: Hospitality Valet Attendant – Luxury Hotels, Resorts & Events Department: Valet Parking Operations Reports directly to: Guest Service Coordinator Schedule: Full Time / Part Time Status: Non-Exempt Compensation: Valets can average $13.00 - $20.00+ per hour (after tips and base pay combined). Rates vary by market; tips are based on service performance and customer interactions. Position Summary As a Valet Attendant, you are more than just someone who parks cars—you are the first impression and the final goodbye. You create a welcoming, professional experience for every guest from arrival until departure, delivering exceptional customer service with energy, confidence, and attention to detail. Primary Objective Provide courteous, efficient, and safe valet services while ensuring the security of all vehicles. Warmly greet guests, assist with vehicle drop‑off and retrieval, manage traffic flow, and address inquiries professionally, following all company policies and operating vehicles with care. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct vehicle damage inspections and document parking locations on claim tickets. Safely and efficiently park and retrieve guest vehicles while adhering to proper key‑handling procedures and all safety protocols. Maintain compliance with attendance and time‑keeping policies, including clocking in/out for shifts and breaks and accurately reporting tips. Keep valet areas clean, organized, and presentable at all times. Handle challenging situations with professionalism, resolve problems promptly, and foster a positive team environment. Maintain regular attendance, adhere to company policies, and uphold PMC standards for safe and efficient parking operations. Perform additional tasks as needed to support operational goals, attend required staff meetings, and complete all training modules on time. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED; customer service experience preferred. A customer‑service attitude and a willing, helpful demeanor are mandatory. Certificates and Licenses Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable motor vehicle record (no more than three moving violations within three years). Clean background check required. Hospitality, Customer Service and Communication Provide exceptional guest service through professional communication, active listening, and personalized assistance, creating a welcoming and memorable experience. Dependability and Safety Demonstrate dependability by following instructions, maintaining schedules, and completing tasks on time. Adhere to safety procedures and report unsafe conditions. Physical Demands and Work Environment Stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods, often in varied weather. Work both indoor and outdoor, collaborating with vendors and clients, using computers and phones, and operating near moving vehicles. Cell Phone Use May be required to use personal cell phones for work‑related communication. Reimbursement for related usage follows company policy. Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek at one and a half times the regular hourly rate. All hourly rates meet or exceed the minimum wage requirements for your work location.
