Make a meaningful difference supporting elementary students as an onsite School Social Worker in a contract position based near Elgin, IL. This opportunity offers a chance to provide valuable services to students in grades K–5, fostering positive social and emotional growth throughout the school day.
This position begins August 12, 2026 and runs through November 4, 2026, with potential for extension. You’ll work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, supporting elementary-aged students while collaborating with educators and families.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Illinois State School Social Worker license (IL SSW) and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Prior experience working in a school setting is required
- Strong communication skills and compassion for young learners
- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and parents
- Skilled in crisis intervention, case management, and providing social-emotional support
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and interventions for students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Conduct assessments and maintain related documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop strategies for student support
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of individualized education plans
- Offer crisis intervention, prevention programming, and group/individual counseling
- Serve as a resource for connecting families to community agencies and supports
