Locum - Physician - OB/GYN

**Clinic and Call Coverage Details:**

**Clinic Coverage:** No call required; hours are 8:30 AM - 3 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.

- **Call Coverage:** 24-hour call from 7 AM to 7 AM, in conjunction with clinic responsibilities. 

On-call days typically involve clinic hours from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM to accommodate morning rounds.

- **Call Ratio:** 1:4

- **Facility Stats:** - Labor & Delivery (L&D) Beds: 9

- Postpartum Beds: 20

- **Support Staff:**

- Collaboration with OBHG hospitalist - Surgical assistants - 3-4 nurses per shift

- **Patient Volume:** - Average nursery admissions: 2-3 per day. - Average callback frequency during 24-hour shifts: less than 1, with calls routed through answering services.

- **Documentation System:** EPIC EMR - 

**Required Procedures:** Proficiency in performing C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, managing ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding. Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists will oversee high-risk patients.

- **Laborist Role:** Unreferred patients will be managed by the Laborist for deliveries and rounding.

- **Credentialing:** Takes 60-90 days; temporary privileges may be granted for providers with a clean background and no malpractice history.

- **Candidate Preferences:** Local candidates preferred, with full travel reimbursement options available.

*Job Overview:**

- **Practice Setting:** OBGYN Hospitalist with call responsibilities and potential for clinic coverage. Candidates must be willing to cover both settings for consideration. No night call required following clinic days.

- **Coverage Dates Needed:** - **August:** 3, 10, 12, 17, 21-23, 31

- **September:** 4-6, 10, 14, 18-20, 24, 28 - **October:** 5, 12, 16-18, 22, 26 - **November:** 2, 9, 20-23, 27, 30 - **December:** 7, 17, 21, 25-27, 29, 31 - Ongoing availability is required; scheduling through specific dates is in progress.

**Qualifications:**

- Board Certified - Active VA DEA and CSR - Active VA medical license

- ABOG and BLS certifications required - Ability to cover call and specified dates

- Candidates must provide procedure logs indicating a minimum of 50 deliveries, including at least 15 C-sections within the past 12 months.

- Self-query NPBD report required for presentation.

- Clean background mandatory for consideration for temporary privileges.
