Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 16 weeks preferred, but will accept 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Cardiac/CVICU experience required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience ACLS and BLS certifications Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The unit manages high acuity patients requiring CVICU experience. The start date is approximately 3-4 weeks out. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Travelers will float within their service line as needed. Local candidates are not accepted within a specified radius. Time off requests will be limited to 2 requests with a maximum of 40 hours during the contract period. Candidates must have experience with ICU practices including ventilator management and arterial line management. Skills required include management of acute heart failure, pulmonary artery catheter management, and care of patients with LVADs and balloon pumps. Additional competencies include the ability to manage vasoactive drips and perform central line monitoring. Travelers must pass a specific EKG exam prior to starting the position. All nurses may be required to adhere to additional compliance protocols. Candidates with a background in critical care nursing are strongly encouraged to apply.
