The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s general ledger accounting and ensuring financial reporting accuracy. Essential Job Functions Review and reconcile cash and credit card activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in Sage Intacct. Prepare and post month-end journal entries Perform assigned month-end and year-end close processes Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Prepare and document balance sheet account reconciliations Perform monthly subledger to general ledger reconciliations, including AP, AR, payroll and other supporting schedules Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items Reconcile intercompany balances Assist with job-cost and project-related accounting reconciliations Support monthly financial reporting and perform variance analysis Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies Other projects or duties as assigned Preferred Talents Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate financial reporting. Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet month-end deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational teams. Experience with job costing or project-based accounting preferred. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or another project-based industry. General ledger and month-end close experience strongly preferred. Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formatting, data manipulation, formulas, lookups, and PivotTables. Ability to learn and work across multiple software systems.
