VP, Commercial - AI Data Solutions

Role Description

TELUS Digital is seeking an enterprising Vice President of Commercial, AI Data Solutions, to own the commercial growth of our AI Data Training practice. This is a pure commercial leadership role responsible for acquiring, expanding, and retaining strategic relationships with the world's leading AGI and Generative AI builders. The VP will serve as the primary revenue driver and executive face of the business to clients.

Our service offerings span the breadth of what modern AI development demands:

• Generative AI: Partnering with clients to build human-aligned datasets for fine-tuning and evaluating large language models.
• Data Collection: Leveraging a global AI Community of over one million contributors to deliver fully managed, multimodal datasets.
• Data Annotation: Transforming raw data into contextually enriched training assets through advanced labeling services.
• Data Validation: Ensuring datasets are accurate, relevant, and production-ready through rigorous validation services.
• Off-the-Shelf Datasets: Providing clients with accessible, cost-effective solutions for training and evaluating AI systems.

The VP, Commercial - AI Data Solutions, is accountable for the growth, retention, and strategic direction of TELUS Digital's AI Data Training client portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Revenue Growth & Account Expansion:
  • Own year-over-year revenue growth across the AI Data Solutions client portfolio.
  • Grow wallet share within existing accounts by transitioning clients to comprehensive AI data partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client organizations.
  • Develop and execute account-level commercial strategies and roadmaps.
• Strategic Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and own trusted relationships across client AI labs and product organizations.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor and primary point of escalation for strategic accounts.
  • Shape the future direction of client AI programs.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, renewals, and expansions.
• Market Positioning & Commercial Strategy:
  • Develop deep knowledge of the AGI and GenAI builder landscape.
  • Partner with internal teams to shape compelling value propositions.
  • Represent TELUS Digital at industry forums and client events.
  • Feed market intelligence back into the business.
• Commercial Leadership & Financial Accountability:
  • Own the commercial P&L for the AI Data Solutions portfolio.
  • Lead and develop a team of Client Success professionals.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in enterprise sales, account management, or client success roles.
• 2–3 years at the VP level or equivalent in a commercially accountable capacity.
• Direct experience selling to or partnering with AI labs or technology companies.
• Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Experience leading client-facing commercial teams.
• AI market fluency and understanding of the AGI and GenAI builder ecosystem.
• Proven track record of growing large, complex enterprise accounts.
• Ability to own a commercial P&L and make sound financial decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to forge trusted relationships with C-suite executives.
• Ability to lead client success teams in a matrixed, international environment.
• Comfortable operating at AI speed and adapting commercial strategies quickly.
