Payroll Specialist

Performs a variety of administrative duties that require knowledge of office routine and understanding of the organizations, programs, and procedures related to the work of the supervisor/department to which you are assigned. The payroll specialist is involved in duties related to payroll processing and works under the direct supervision of the Payroll Supervisor. Responsibilities include: Overseeing and processing non-exempt payroll for the School of Law, Main Campus, and College Work Study students, including tracking hours, processing corrections, reviewing reports, monitoring holiday hours, and verifying employment data. Handling reporting and administrative processes such as processing payroll reports, employment verifications, and unemployment forms. Providing customer service by serving as the front desk contact, guiding employees through self-service processes, and assisting managers with time tracking tasks. Supporting and serving as backup to the Payroll Supervisor, including reviewing wage and benefits changes, generating payroll, reconciling reports, auditing garnishments, and resolving issues. Qualifications: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of one year payroll or related experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Effective written and oral communication skills required. This is a hybrid schedule position.
