Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Cardiovascular Unit (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Apply clinical judgment skills to assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential cardiovascular health conditions
• Provide specialized nursing care for cardiology patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemaker placements
• Care for post-operative open heart surgery patients in the immediate recovery phase (18–24 hours post-op)
• Manage and monitor patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on safety and positive outcomes
• Float to similar units as needed to support staffing and patient care needs across the facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown nursing experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac nursing care required
• Comfort and experience with EKG interpretation required
• Active Michigan RN license required (LARA and Nursys verification required)
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Must be willing to float to similar units within the facility
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience supporting or participating in clinical research trials is a plus
• Familiarity with shared governance or unit-based council models preferred
