Junior Accountant

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the financial operations of a multi‑service risk management company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate credit card activity, and month‑end close support. The Junior Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and internal business teams to help maintain accurate financial records, strengthen accounting processes, and support timely business decisions across Alliance Risk Group's diverse service lines. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions using QuickBooks. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Reconcile corporate credit card statements and ensure proper coding/categorization of expenses. Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations as needed. Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on collections as needed. Ensure vendor invoices are properly approved, coded, and processed for payment. Assist with preparing supporting schedules and documentation for month-end and year-end close. Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records and files. Identify and help resolve discrepancies in AP/AR or credit card transactions. Support the accounting team with ad hoc reporting, projects, and process improvement initiatives as needed. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve accounting and payment-related questions. Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information and adhere to established accounting policies and internal controls. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Prior accounting/bookkeeping experience (internship or professional) is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with QuickBooks preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to handle sensitive/confidential financial information with discretion. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
