Superintendent, Healthcare

Responsibilities Promote and ensure site safety and possess comprehensive knowledge for day‑to‑day field operations for assigned project(s) including planning, coordinating, sequencing work, procurement of materials, and supervising subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, while adhering to Webcor’s quality standards and client satisfaction. Implement and enforce Webcor’s safety policy and procedures, ensuring site cleanliness on the job site. Manage day‑to‑day field operations of assigned healthcare project(s) including planning, coordinating, sequencing work, materials procurement, and supervising subcontractors and vendors. Effectively interface with clients, vendors, inspectors, subcontractors, project management and design teams. Lead, develop, and mentor team members, provide timely, regular feedback, and promote a positive team culture and environment. Submit comprehensive monthly schedules as required by the project. Manage changes in schedule and scope, ensuring timely adjustments. Ensure that self‑perform LDRs are completed regularly and use LDRs to track project gains and losses. Manage delay log in partnership with the Project Management team and review the daily log. Understand, comprehend, and follow project subcontracts. Determine vertical transportation requirements using OSHA requirements and evaluate all hoisting requirements, sizing and placing cranes accordingly. Manage month‑to‑month project site logistics. Monitor and enforce the QA/QC program, overseeing the execution of the Webcor Punch List Program. Effectively measure quality and craftsmanship, ensuring required inspections are scheduled, coordinated, performed, tracked, and closed out. Participate in design document development and trade coordination activities. Review cost reports and forecasting for general requirements, along with change order process and tracking. Technical Skills and Knowledge Required Advanced knowledge and understanding of sequencing of work and ability to develop scope in collaboration with other team members to develop trade packages. Ability to run a significant portion of a project at the appropriate size, as assigned by management. Strong understanding and function of the MEPS systems of a building and the timing for its start‑up during the TCO/commissioning process. Understanding of the core and shell process and/or finishes. Knowledge of dispatching and how to interact with unions. Basic understanding of pertinent local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures. Strong understanding of the critical path method of scheduling using systems such as P6 or equivalent. Ability to understand cost reports and forecasting for general requirements, along with change order process and tracking. Ability to calculate risk. Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Typically eight years of increasingly responsible construction experience in a trade or trades, including at least two years as a foreman or four years as an assistant superintendent. Demonstrated experience leading field operations on OSHPD (HCAI) healthcare construction projects in California required. Experience working in an operating/active hospital environment is preferred. OSHA 30 certification required (or any certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, such as STSC or CHST). CPR and First Aid/CPR/AED training completion required. If not already certified, Webcor will provide training. Self‑perform experience preferred. Bi‑lingual abilities a plus. Compensation Range of base pay is $152,250–$168,000.
