The candidate will work in the Engineering department to provide basic maintenance to our Nursing Home. You will inspect equipment and perform  basic repairs or preventative maintenance. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance in health care or residental facilities, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read repair manuals.

1.      Follows equipment maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.,)

2.      Light painting, flooring, wall papering, framing, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.

3.      Performs emergency mechanical repairs.

4.      Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning to supervisor.

5.      Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.

6.      Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

7.      Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.

8.      Attend in-service educational programs and be knowledgeable of facility’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding cleaning and infection control

9.      Practices the highest level of customer service in dealing with all internal and external customers and peers.

10.  Assists in emergency procedures ie, code E, fire, disaster, and general health care emergencies. as directed.

11.  Follows code of conduct and ensures resident privacy and is compliant with HIPAA.

12.  Will perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities 

1.      Education: High school education, equivalent

2.      License/Certification: None

3.      Equipment/Computer Software:  Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

4.      Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

5.      Physical/Mental Demands: Walk long distances, and remain on her / his feet for long durations of time. Bend, squat, push, pull, reach, stretch and lift up to 50lbs.  Speak, read and understand English.  Hear the spoken word. Able to tolerate cleaning chemicals with use of appropriate equipment.
