Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: 07/27/2026 | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1 (up to 5:1 when stretched)
• Perform neurological and spinal assessments, including neuro and spinal checks
• Manage and monitor chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, and lumbar drains
• Assist with C-collar placement, TLSO braces, and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions and manage IV pump therapy including Skylift and patient lift equipment
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed; document all care using Cerner EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, stepdown, or progressive care nursing experience
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated experience in neuro and trauma care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong background in both neurological and trauma patient populations
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery
