Anti-Money Laundering Investigator

We are seeking an experienced AML/KYC Analyst to join our client’s compliance team. This professional will be responsible for reviewing customer activity, conducting KYC/CDD investigations, identifying potential financial crime risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable AML regulations and internal policies. Position is based in Blue Ash, Oh, and HYBRID after training.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct KYC and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews, including onboarding and periodic reviews.
- Perform AML transaction monitoring and investigate potentially suspicious activity.
- Research and analyze customer information, account activity, and risk indicators.
- Identify and escalate potential suspicious activity in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on higher-risk customers.
- Review alerts and prepare clear, well-documented investigation findings.
- Perform research related to sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, and other financial crime risks.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and meet established quality and productivity standards.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Operations, and other internal teams.
- Stay current on AML/KYC regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, or financial crimes compliance .
- Strong investigative and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience reviewing customer/account information and identifying risk indicators.
- Knowledge of AML regulations and financial crime compliance practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple investigations and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred
- Experience within banking, financial services, fintech, or a regulated financial institution .
- Familiarity with AML/KYC systems and case management platforms.
- CAMS or other relevant compliance certification.
- Experience with sanctions screening, PEP reviews, or adverse media research.
