Robert Half is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney for a growing law firm in Milford, Connecticut. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a strong background managing personal injury matters from inception through resolution.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling plaintiff and/or defense personal injury cases, a strategic approach to litigation, and the ability to independently manage a caseload while delivering exceptional client service and advocacy.

Location: Milford, CT (On-Site)

Schedule: Standard Business Hours, 40 hours per week

Pay Rate: $80.00- $100.00 per hour

Duration: 3-4 Month Contract with Potential for Extension

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of personal injury matters from initial case evaluation through settlement, trial, or other resolution.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies tailored to the facts, legal issues, and objectives of each case.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions, including fact witnesses, treating physicians, and expert witnesses.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and other parties to secure favorable outcomes.
• Analyze liability, damages, medical records, expert reports, and other evidence to assess case value and litigation risk.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case progression and adherence to deadlines.
• Stay current on developments in Connecticut personal injury law, court procedures, and litigation best practices.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Connecticut Bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with significant personal injury litigation experience preferred.
• Proven ability to independently manage a personal injury caseload.
• Strong knowledge of liability analysis, damages evaluation, insurance coverage issues, and case valuation.
• Experience handling depositions, motion practice, discovery, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship management abilities.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive, results-driven approach to litigation.

Preferred Experience

• Plaintiff-side or defense-side personal injury litigation experience.
• Trial preparation and courtroom advocacy experience.
• Experience handling high-value and complex injury matters.
• Familiarity with medical records review, expert witness coordination, and settlement negotiations.
