About This Role The Assistant Nurse Manager for Patient Care in the SICU is responsible for managing team members and patient care activities during assigned shifts, ensuring high-quality patient and family‑centered care. Highlights Location: Manhasset, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full‑time, night shift What You’ll Do Manage and lead team members, operations, and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift. Collaborate with team members and nursing management in developing methods and techniques for patient care. Communicate, build consensus, and guide team members toward achieving department objectives. Promote and maintain high‑quality patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Create a professional work environment that encourages respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal patient outcomes. Provide direction and guidance to patient care unit team members during assigned shift. Conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring, promotions, and corrective actions. Educate team members in new and existing department procedures and systems. Ensure adherence to established care delivery models and standards of practice. Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve patient care delivery and team effectiveness. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Experience: 4-6 years of nursing experience required; 0-2 years of leadership/management experience required; 2+ years of ICU experience preferred; transplant and CRRT experience strongly preferred. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
