Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years License: Active state RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Experience with stable chronic ventilators - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Floating to other units based on skill set and census may be required. Traveler will be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to. Experience in charge nursing is preferred. Charting system experience with Epic is required. Patient populations include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 23. Common patient diagnoses include COPD, AKI, CHF, CRF, PND, ARDS, COVID, flu, GI bleed, and general intermediate care. Special procedures include chest tube management and hemodialysis management. Candidates must be comfortable with various skills, including airway management, telemetry, and care of ventilated patients. There may be instances of low census that could lead to cancellation of shifts. RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted with the initial application; no adjustments will be made after an offer is extended. References are not required for submission. All candidates should disclose any prior employment history with the organization. Candidates are expected to be compliant with all facility policies and procedures. Weekly staffing is based on self-scheduling.
