B Cup Cafe & Eatery is a neighborhood café in New York City's East Village, serving the community for over 20 years. We are currently seeking an experienced FOH Lead Barista / Server for a full-time position. Prior Batista / Server experience is a must, as well as ownership of your work, genuine enjoyment of service, and an ambition for growth.
Specifications- Hourly Pay + Tips
- Prior barista and food service experience is required. This role is a combination of barista, counter service, and light table service responsibilities .
- 40 hours per week, including weekends . Typical shifts are approximately 6 to 8+ hours .
- Opportunity for growth into a Supervisor position for employees who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and leadership.
- For the right person, we are open to a weekly competitive salary after an initial training period.
Our operating hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM . Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and other café beverages consistently and efficiently
- Maintain quality and speed during busy service periods
- Learn the full food and beverage menu and confidently recommend items, popular choices, and add-ons
- Take customer orders and accurately operate the POS/register cash and card transactions
- Provide friendly, attentive, and engaging customer service
- Light table service and check-ins. C lear, clean, and reset tables as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee station, counter, dining area, and workspace
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures
- Complete assigned opening, closing, restocking, and general cleaning duties
- At least 2 years of prior NYC barista or food service experience required
- NYC Food Protection Certificate required
- Comfortable approaching tables, checking in with guests, and providing attentive service
- Able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining quality
- Reliable, punctual, proactive, and team-oriented
- Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
