We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.Job SummaryThe Senior Clinical Research Coordinator (Sr. CRC) works independently under minimal supervision to support the team in enrolling eligible patients on oncology clinical trials. The Sr. CRC will support both Mass General Brigham Academic Medical Centers of Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) AND Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). This role is required to be on-site at either location depending upon need. The Sr. CRC will work as a CRC at BWH and will assist the Clinical Research Manager with the implementation of clinical trials across different disease specialties at the BWH site. The Sr. CRC will be responsible for scheduling all protocol mandated tests required to comply with institutional and federal regulations governing clinical research. In addition, the Sr. CRC may assist management in the areas of Quality Control and Training & Development and may provide input into the assessment of departmental procedures. This position involves direct patient contact.Responsibilities may consist of assisting Management with the following:Identify changes associated with Standard Operating Procedures and develop processes to ensure complianceTraining of new staffManage studies of a particular specialized programDisease specific administrative tasksThe position represents a trained individual able to perform the following job duties independently under minimal supervision by the Clinical Research Manager:Assist clinical team in screening potential patients for study participationSchedule all protocol required tests and proceduresCoordinate patient appointments with physicians, nurses, and all test areasCoordinate and schedule clinical safety laboratory specimen draws and ensure timely results are available to providersPrepare pre-visit communication for providers to ensure required assessments are completed and documentedMaintain point of contact communication with enrolled patients and assist with front line questions regarding study participationDevelop protocol specific flow charts, intake sheets, and other tools to ensure protocol compliance and proper data acquisitionCoordinate, obtain, process, and ship protocol required tissue samplesEnsure collection and processing (e.g. spin/separate/freeze) of all required correlative research blood samples with the coordination of the processing labs for MGH and BWHObtain vital signs and perform EKGs as required for individual studiesAdminister quality of life assessments as required for individual studiesScans in research documents and certifies these documents as copiesSkills/Abilities/Competencies Required:High level time management and organization skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of current and developing clinical research trendsSound interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor othersAbility to work independently and display initiativeAbility to identify problems and develop solutionsEducation:BA/BS degree requiredExperience:2-4 years related experience.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneWorking Conditions:Duties will primarily be performed in an ambulatory/clinical office settingDuties will be performed on-site at both BWH and MGH locations as needed, with support at BWH increasing as our clinical research operations increase at that location.Mass General Brigham Competency FrameworkAt Mass General Brigham, our competency framework defines what effective leadership "looks like" by specifying which behaviors are most critical for successful performance at each job level.
