Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Orthopedic Surgical Travel Nurse Opportunity

RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

Surgical focus is orthopedics and joints. Required skills/certs/exp:

• Minimum years of experience: 2 years minimum required. Hardstop - 2 years of experience - M/S Ortho experience.
• Traveler experience: Facility will accept 1st time travelers.
• Work setting skills required: MS/Tele.
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias & use of rapid response/code teams.
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills required: Peripheral line care/management.
• Respiratory skills required: Nasal cannula & non-invasive airway management.
• Professional topics and skills required: Isolation precautions/PPE.
• BLS preferred.

Preferred skills/certs/exp:

• Orthopedics skills: Total joint replacement & spinal surgery.

Job details:

• Avg. daily census is 34; rooms/beds: 48.
• Shift: 36 hours can be offered. Will accept 13 weeks.
• 3 x 12 hour nights; 1845 - 07:15.
• Call requirement: none.
• Float requirement: yes. If the census drops, then travelers would be the first to float.
• Weekend requirement: yes, every other.

Patient diagnoses: Fully surgical unit with occasional medical overflow. Surgical focus is orthopedics and joints, most common diagnoses include total knee replacement, total hip replacement, spinal fusions, hip fractures, ortho trauma and med/surg overflow.

Special equipment: Frequent wound vacs and drains.

Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC required, SBAR scheduling.

Scheduling type: Per unit needs.

Unit orientation: Per unit needs.

Scrubs: not provided. Navy blue.
