Litigation Paralegal

Nationally recognized law firm of Early, Lucarelli, Sweeney & Meisenkothen, LLC is seeking a paralegal/legal assistant in our New Haven, CT office. For 46 years we have successfully represented people who have contracted terminal cancers from working with asbestos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, communicating with clients, witnesses and experts, and completing other administrative tasks, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with case management and work-up from intake to trial
• Organize and file pleadings on LexisNexis File & Serve, CT Judicial Website and/or federal Pacer system
• Coordinate, schedule and track discovery deadlines, hearings and other events for attorneys
• Communicate with expert witnesses, opposing counsel and staff

Qualifications

• Self-starter
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
• Proficient use of cloud-based applications and collaboration tools such as Dropbox, Hightail, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Willing to work overtime as needed
