Step into a dynamic opportunity as an Itinerant Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year, supporting diverse learners across specialized programs in Lehigh and Carbon Counties. This contract-based position operates within a flexible, itinerant “substitute” capacity, providing coverage for classrooms and programs in need while collaborating with a passionate, multidisciplinary team. Key Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification (preferred or required based on assignment)
• Proven experience teaching in special education classrooms
• Familiarity with implementing IEPs and delivering individualized, specialized instruction
• Strong classroom management and behavioral support skills
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, specialists, and families
• Willingness to work across multiple sites or programs within a 35-minute commute from your residence
• Flexibility and resilience to adapt to evolving classroom needs

Preferred Background Includes:

• Autism support programs and ABA-informed methodologies
• Emotional and behavioral support, including trauma-informed practices and crisis prevention
• Multiple disabilities support and life skills development
• Prior experience in intermediate units or specialized school settings

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and adapt materials to diverse student needs
• Support classrooms with enhanced autism, emotional support, or multiple disability programs
• Implement behavior intervention and management strategies
• Serve as substitute in varied locations, covering teacher absences, leaves, or vacancies
• Maintain accurate documentation and support student progress toward IEP goals

This role offers a school-day schedule totaling 35 hours weekly, following the academic calendar.
