Mallory, Sr. Street (formerly Bank Street*) Job Id: 502 # of Openings: 1 HR Generalist St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP) has served residents of greater Cincinnati for over 150 years with basic needs such as food, medicine, and homelessness prevention through its outreach center in the West End and through fifty‑six parish‑based volunteer Conferences (chapters). SVDP provides holistic direct assistance and systemic change services while treating neighbors in need with dignity, and compassion. Position Overview This is a full‑time on‑site position, and we are seeking a skilled, passionate HR Generalist to join our growing team. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission by ensuring effective human resource management practices within the organization. This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high drive for results. Key Responsibilities Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions. Coordinate recruitment efforts, including internally and externally posting job openings, screening resumes, and facilitating interviews. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed. Assist in resolving employee relations issues in a fair and timely manner, promoting a positive work environment. Function as subject matter expert and trusted advisor for stakeholder groups regarding policy and procedure. HR Administration: Proficiency with managing the employment life cycle by navigating within HRIS platforms (ie Paycor, ADP, Workday). Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee records, including electronic employee files, benefits information, and pertinent employment records. Partner with Accountant/Payroll Specialist and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations. Ensure recurring deductions, garnishments and benefit premiums are accurate. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff members including assistance with scheduling and organizing New Hire Orientation and Management Training and Development Activities. Identify training needs and collaborate with department heads to develop and deliver tailored training programs. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as necessary. Benefits Administration: Support administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in HR roles, preferably in a non‑profit or mission‑driven organization. Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with employees at all levels. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently. Proven success with project management and high drive for success. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Paycor HRIS experience preferred HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
