Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and observations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognition, and swallowing goals.
- Deliver speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers.
- Educate patients and families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally participate in inpatient therapy to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with state and federal regulations.
- Stay current with professional knowledge through continuing education.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (if not yet ASHA-certified).
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire).
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatments for developmental and acquired disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Clinical judgment combined with creative problem-solving.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation.
