Maintenance Technician II

Job Summary Performs multiple tasks relating to maintenance functions throughout the hospital and facilities' supported areas under supervision. Job Responsibilities Performs maintenance rounds, preventative maintenance tasks, miscellaneous repairs, and other services, including minor electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and HVAC tasks. Conducts skilled tradesmen work on construction/renovation projects. Maintains building walls, finishes, doors, casework, and ceilings. Applies, removes, mixes, matches finish materials; prepares surfaces such as metal, wall board, and wood for finishes; prepares walls, ceilings, doors, and cabinetry for new finishes. Performs visual inspection of all surfaces to maintain a proactive position regarding the condition of the physical plant. Ensures security of persons and property; provides escorts to and from the facility; conducts regular rounds ensuring integrity of secured areas and reports security incidents. Works as a member of the in-house construction crew with overall responsibility for completing multiple projects at various sites. Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies skills and knowledge appropriate to specialization. Position Requirements Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred. Education: High school diploma, GED or higher required upon hire. Additional education considered in lieu of degree. Licensure/Certification/Registration: No licensure/certification/registration required.
