Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Tucson, AZSchedule: Full-time, onsiteHours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMClearance: Active Secret clearance requiredRole OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support hardware design, development, integration, and production for critical defense systems. This role requires a strong mix of mechanical hardware design experience, system integration capability, production support, and program execution ownership.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical hardware design efforts from early concept definition through detailed design and production supportDevelop and support mechanical designs using 3D CAD tools and product data management systemsSupport hardware development, design reviews, prototype builds, fabrication, integration, and production readinessWork with cross-functional teams to resolve mechanical design, integration, and production issuesSupport transition of mechanical hardware from engineering development into manufacturing and production environmentsCoordinate with systems, electrical, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to support technical executionMaintain design documentation, configuration control, and product data throughout the hardware lifecycleProvide technical direction and support for mechanical hardware, assemblies, and equipment packagingRequired QualificationsActive Secret security clearanceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM discipline5–10 years of mechanical engineering, mechanical hardware design, or related product development experienceProven experience supporting concept definition, detailed design, transition to production, and production supportHands-on experience with 3D CAD design toolsExperience with product data management tools or configuration-controlled design environmentsStrong mechanical design, integration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environmentDesired QualificationsExperience with design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assembliesExperience with shelter assemblies, equipment packaging, or power distribution equipmentExperience supporting defense, aerospace, or production hardware programsPrior leadership of small to mid-sized technical teamsStrong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsSelf-driven technical leader with strong ownership of design execution and production support
