Our company is diverse and has a solid management base, product/market niches and efficient manufacturing capabilities.The Quality Control Technician tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Salary Range: $23/hour to $26/hour DOEJob DescriptionPrimary ResponsibilitiesPerforms, records, and evaluates chemical and physical tests necessary to control production processes or evaluate quality of in-process and finished goods (tensile, bend, torsion, acid/base chemistry)Recommends corrective measures and determines corrective actions to be taken.Reports deviation from quality levels and standard practice to immediate supervisor and shift foreman.Ensures that practices being used are in accordance with standard practice data.Provides technical assistance to department heads in project and experimental work.Identifies all rejected material and assists in its reclassification and disposition.Provides technical support for experimental and project work by recording and correlating operating data and results.Recommends improvements in process, standard practices and product evaluation.Performs process audits as determined by operating procedures and job work practices.Other as assignedJob RequirementsTwo years of post-high school education; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures, specifications, and technical procedures.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.Comfortable working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Must be at least intermediate skill level in Excel.Must be able to pass preemployment background, drug/alcohol, and physical screeningsMust be able to work independently, as a team, and be able to work with both internal and external customersAbility to think strategically and problem solveAuthorized to work for any employer in the United States of AmericaPhysical RequirementsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for physical inspection, hand and eye coordination, depth perceptionMust be able to stand, walk and sit occasional to frequent.Must be able to work in a dusty environment around metalsHearing – must be able to hear others and warning sounds of forklift and other heavy machinerySpeech – must be able to communicate effectively with others while workingSmell – must be able to smell various chemicals and gassesMust be able to squat, stoop, twist, climb, crawl, reach, grasp, and fine manipulation, and bend occasional to frequentKey CompetenciesInnovation Focus - Confident ability to drive change and express and advocate for new ideas and ways of doing things.Willingness to take appropriate business risks, recognizing that to succeed overall, one will occasionally fail.Collaborative Style – Engages stakeholders in problem solving and decision making.
