: The CalSTRS Technology Services Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Information Technology Specialist II in the IT Support Services Unit within the IT Infrastructure & Operations Division. The Technology Services Branch is committed to providing quality and timely technical support and services to the organization. Technology Services provides resources to successfully meet the technical demands of the organization. The IT Infrastructure and Operations Division manages the core technology infrastructure needed to support the CalSTRS business. This infrastructure includes client technology; network, servers, and storage infrastructure; and technology disaster recovery. The IT Infrastructure and Operations Division also provides technology related operational support for CalSTRS and is comprised of the following team: Client Technology Infrastructure, Audiovisual Services, Client Technology Services, Technology Disaster Recovery, Network Infrastructure, Service Desk and System & Security Administration. Under the general direction of the Under the general direction of the IT Support Services Manager, the Information Technology Specialist ll operates as the Senior Systems & Production Administrator for CalSTRS Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system, Contact Center system, and other systems supported by the team. The incumbent acts as a lead to perform a wide variety of tasks requiring innovative problem-solving, scripts development, and application integration where guidance is not readily available. The incumbent demonstrates advanced level knowledge and skills in administering, supporting, and troubleshooting complex systems; and optimizes and applies solutions for the benefit of the overall organization in addition to, mentoring and leading junior staff on the team. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with business users and vendors as a team lead.
• Advanced business and technical analytical skills.
• Ability to lead a highly complex system implementation project from start to finish.
• Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff and management.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management processes (i.e., incident, problem, change, etc.).
• Experience with application design, development, release, maintenance and support.

Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position. Working Conditions

All staff of CalSTRS are employees of the State of California and subject to California employment taxes and withholdings. Upon appointment, staff are required to provide a current California address to CalSTRS Human Resources to be used as a remote work location. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment with CalSTRS.
