Come join the energetic team at New Realm Brewing Co.'s Virginia Beach location! We're looking for outgoing, hospitality-driven bartenders who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and enjoy being part of a lively taproom known for events, live music, and a vibrant beer garden atmosphere.

At New Realm, we proudly serve over 30 beers on tap brewed in-house, along with our own spirits, craft cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. Our Virginia Beach location features live music, a large beer garden, and a high-energy environment that attracts locals, visitors, and event crowds alike.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be timely, dependable, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced team environment.
• Learn and communicate detailed information about our frequently changing beer, spirits, and food menu.
• Provide warm, attentive, and engaging hospitality to every guest.
• Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues in a proactive and professional manner.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment for guests and team members.
• Accurately and efficiently process transactions using Toast POS.
• Perform opening and closing duties and complete side work proactively.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming taproom environment.
• Recognize and appropriately address intoxicated, disruptive, or threatening patrons with management support when necessary.
• Consistently meet the standards outlined in the employee handbook and training programs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Experience

Required: 1 year of experience in a restaurant, bar, or taproom environment.

Experience working high-volume shifts, events, or busy hospitality environments is a plus.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present our menu to guests and answer questions. Must be able to speak English.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, you are frequently exposed to outside weather conditions seasonally during Spring, Summer, and Fall when our outdoor patio is open. Occasionally, you may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the restaurant is usually moderate and can occasionally be loud.
