Technical Program Manager-DDR Shift Left

Advanced Micro Devices Inc

WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you’ll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career. THE ROLE:The Memory Subsystem team is seeking a Program Manager to support execution planning, cross-functional coordination, and delivery readiness across Memory Subsystem and Shift Left teams. This role focuses on enabling structured execution across pre-silicon, emulation, SoC integration, firmware-driven readiness, lab alignment, and bring-up support. You will help ensure the Memory Subsystem and Shift Left teams have clear plans, visibility into risks, aligned ownership, and disciplined execution across multiple concurrent programs. This includes tracking AI-assisted engineering adoption as a first-class execution metric, given the team's strong and growing use of AI development tools across RTL, verification, and debug workflows. You will partner closely with engineering leaders, technical leads, firmware teams, SoC teams, emulation teams, lab teams, and external partners to align milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables. This role emphasizes technical program execution in addition to planning and coordination. You will work closely with engineering teams to translate complex technical activities into actionable plans, commitments, and leadership-ready status updates. You are expected to actively use AI tools to accelerate program management deliverables — generating status summaries, synthesizing cross-team updates, and automating reporting and tracking mechanisms.THE PERSON:You are a program manager with strong technical experience and a demonstrated ability to support complex semiconductors, SoC, firmware, platform, or system-level engineering programs. You have experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and understanding technical dependencies well enough to identify risks, clarify ownership, and facilitate resolution. You help create structure and alignment in evolving technical environments and support teams across changing priorities, multiple locations, and concurrent programs. You embrace AI as a force-multiplier for program execution — using AI tools to compress reporting cycles, improve data-driven visibility, and free up time for higher-value coordination.Success in this role may include experience with:Defining execution plans, milestones, deliverables, and closure criteriaDriving cross-functional alignment across engineering, firmware, SoC, emulation, lab, and platform teamsIdentifying schedule risks, resource constraints, dependency gaps, and execution blockersTranslating complex technical status into clear leadership summaries — including leveraging AI tools to draft, synthesize, and refine executive-ready updatesCreating operating mechanisms that improve visibility, accountability, and execution effectiveness, including AI-assisted dashboards and automated trackingFacilitating issue resolution through clear ownership and follow-upSupporting distributed teams across multiple sites and time zonesTracking and reporting AI-tool adoption and productivity impact as part of program readiness and continuous improvement metricsYou are an execution-focused program leader who helps technical teams achieve consistent delivery objectives.KEY multiple memory subsystem programsPartner with engineering leaders across Austin, Markham, Raleigh, firmware, SoC, lab, emulation, and platform teamsBuild and maintain execution plans that connect pre-silicon readiness, Shift Left execution, firmware-driven flows, lab readiness, and post-silicon bring-up supportTrack readiness across key areas including simulation, emulation, firmware execution, memory model integration, regression stability, coverage visibility, and debug resolutionImprove visibility into execution gaps, schedule risks, resource constraints, and cross-team dependenciesDrive structured communication for weekly execution reviews, program checkpoints, and leadership updates, using AI tools to accelerate the generation and synthesis of status contentSupport Shift Left planning across multiple concurrent programs, including execution workflows, scenario expansion, debug readiness, and SoC integration readinessPartners with engineering managers and technical leads to define measurable deliverables, ownership, and closure criteriaSupport coordination of contractor-delivered work and external partnerships aligned with Memory Subsystem prioritiesCreate clear, concise, executive-ready status summaries for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, applying AI-assisted drafting and data synthesis to improve speed and consistencyIdentify process gaps and drive improvements in planning, tracking, reporting, and escalation mechanisms, including opportunities to apply AI and automation to reduce manual effortTrack and report team AI-adoption metrics (participation, tooling usage, productivity impact) and help drive continued AI enablement across Memory Subsystem and Shift Left teamsSupport execution across multiple locations, including alignment between Shift Left, lab, and UU execution activitiesPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience in program management, technical program management, or engineering execution roles
