Temporary Ambulatory GYN Nurse BWH

Staff Nurse - 24hr Variable Day - BWH Ambulatory OBGYN - Resident GYN Short‑term position with an expected duration of 26‑28 weeks, with hospital option to extend or shorten based on clinical or other needs. Responsibilities Providing care for patients in the Resident GYN practice on the main campus Telephone triage of GYN patients Communicating with and providing nursing care to GYN patients via Patient Gateway Birth control counseling Administer injections and/or provide patient education on GYN topics during nurse visits Working collaboratively with residents, physicians, and support staff to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment Education Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses. Experience Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience. Clinical GYN nursing experience over the last 2 years. Preferred: nursing experience in an ambulatory clinic/practice setting. Preferred: bilingual. Other Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is preferred. Able to work weekend rotation per MNA contract. Skills and Abilities The RN must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients. Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities. Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills. Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.
