This role develops and updates policies and procedures, oversees compliance-related staff, and serves as a key resource for regulatory and industry updates.Key responsibilities include:Creating, reviewing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with lending and deposit regulationsManaging the bank’s compliance program, including complaint management, policy review, and regulatory exam preparationConduct and manage regular risk assessments to identify areas of vulnerability regarding regulations and internal policiesEnsures accurate collection, analysis, and timely submission of Home Mortgage Act Disclosure (HMDA) reportingCoordinating with legal counsel and bank leadership on new or revised products and servicesProviding training, guidance, and support to staff on compliance mattersSupervising the Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Loan Audit Specialist, and Compliance/Fraud SpecialistParticipating in key committees including Enterprise Risk Management, Audit/Legal/Compliance, Product Innovation, Business Continuity, and Incident ResponseInterpret and disseminate information on regulatory/compliance mattersMaintain education and professional expertise through attendance at professional seminars, conferences and workshopsWhat We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of demonstrated experience in banking compliance (community banking preferred)Strong knowledge of regulatory matters and industry trends in lending and deposit complianceExcellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong ethical focus and attention to detailAbility to lead with tact, diplomacy, and confidentialityCertified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferredWorking Conditions:Work is performed primarily within the Bank, with limited chance of personal injuryPeriodic travel between offices and occasional overnight business travel may be requiredNormal business hours with some evening or weekend work as neededMust be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipmentServe as a representative of the organization at appropriate functionsWho We Are:SFB is an independent community bank with eight branch locations and more than 140 employees.
