Y Reads! Site Coordinator (Project Management) The Sulphur Springs YMCA at the Sulphur Springs K-8 Community Partnership School (SSK8) is a long-term initiative in one of Tampas most vulnerable neighborhoods, designed to have a collective impact on low-income kids and families in the underserved neighborhood. As the lead partner agency with SSK8 for more than ten years, the Ys services are embedded in alignment with the school to provide year-round support services ranging from academic support, social and emotional enrichment and parent engagement as well as meeting physical health needs. Through Expanded Learning Programs like the YMCA Reads!, the Tampa Y nourishes the minds of elementary school children. This work is an example of our long commitment to strengthening the foundations of our community. By aligning social services with education, families and children are provided with the tools and support they need to succeed in school and life. The YReads! program improves students' reading skills through mentoring and a research-based, data-driven curriculum, Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words. Using research-based tools, the YREADS program ignites young minds at-risk for lifelong reading difficulties. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Program Director Expanded Learning, the YReads! Site Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the YREADS program to include but not limited to providing literacy instruction and completing administrative duties as needed. Critical areas of expertise include: curriculum delivery facilitation skills behavior management skills volunteer recruitment relationship building Program Quality and Growth Establish community and corporate relationships in order to promote the program. Develop plans for Family Nights and communication to encourage family support of the program objectives and to build strong families. Form relationships with principal, guidance staff and reading specialists at program school sites to promote a team approach to youth mentoring. Organize and present events and activities aimed at volunteer/mentor retention and appreciation. Operations/Team Leadership Plan and implement appropriate daily lesson/mentoring plan and support volunteers and the Program Assistant in carrying out activities. Train YMCA staff and sub-contractor staff on management of YREADS Program management, as well as literacy skills, volunteer recruitment and retention. Manage volunteer recruitment training for YMCA READS! Program volunteers/mentors. Create and implement volunteer/mentor training to assist Site Coordinator. In collaboration with the Senior Program Director, help prepare budget and ensure operations are within approved budget. Ensure all governmental, YMCA and organizational records and reporting requirements are in compliance. Communicate and promote the YMCA mission, goals and objectives to the legislature, employees and volunteers. Grant Administration Ensure delivery of curriculum and all grant related metrics. Works with grant team to submit all required grant data in a timely manner and attend meetings with funders as requested by the Senior Program Director.
