Data Engineer

Data Engineer-Hybrid 3 Days Onsite

Location: Plano, Texas

A fast-growing and highly successful consumer financial services company based in Plano, TX, is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern data solutions that power analytics and business intelligence across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data architectures, along with experience using MotherDuck and/or DuckDB in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Python.
• Build, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and data models.
• Develop high-performance data solutions leveraging MotherDuck and/or DuckDB.
• Design efficient data storage, transformation, and retrieval processes.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, reliability, and performance across multiple data sources.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Optimize pipeline performance and troubleshoot data processing issues.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and implement best practices for data engineering.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Advanced level proficiency in Python.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
• Hands-on professional experience with MotherDuck and/or DuckDB.
• Experience designing and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
