Patient Services Specialist - University

Under general supervision and according to prescribed procedures, greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into Centricity necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims. Prepares paper work necessary for the patient visit. Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties as directed by the Practice Manager to include posting of charges, collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due. Essential Functions: Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit. Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs Cashier duties as directed including posting of charges, Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due. Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested. Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills Working knowledge of insurance Epic/EMR background a plus Medical terminology Qualifications: High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.
