Data Scientist

Position Summary
PTx is looking for a detail-oriented and business-focused Data Scientist to support our growing Business Intelligence function. This role blends advanced analytics with strong business acumen. The ideal candidate will enable the organization to make data-driven decisions through clear and actionable insights. The ideal candidate excels in transforming complex datasets into intuitive dashboards, reports, and predictive insights. This role requires the candidate to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand performance, identify opportunities, and drive strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to understand KPIs, performance drivers, and reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and automated reporting tools to support daily decision-making.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Build predictive and descriptive models that enhance business forecasting and performance measurement.
• Translate data findings into concise, business-friendly insights, and recommendations.
• Support data governance efforts by ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
• Collaborate with IT and Cloud teams to enhance data pipelines and improve BI data availability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Agriculture, or related field. Or M.S. degree with a strong data analysis background.
• Experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or data science roles supporting business operations.
• Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau or Domo.
• Strong SQL skills and experience extracting, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sources.
• Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis or machine learning.
• Ability to explain complex analytical concepts in a clear and concise manner to business stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• 1 - 2 years professional experience
• Experience working in Databricks (Lakehouse) environments, including Delta tables, Databricks/Spark SQL, notebooks, and scheduled jobs/workflows.
• Ability to integrate and model data from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP/finance, CRM/sales, operations/field systems), including SQL databases, APIs, and flat files.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT patterns in a modern lakehouse stack and effective cross-team collaboration with data engineering on pipelines and data quality.
• Knowledge of forecasting, segmentation, and statistical analysis techniques.
• Background in financial, operational, or customer analytics.
• Experience developing self-service semantic layers, curated datasets, and reporting frameworks that scale across teams.

Your Compensation

This position offers a base salary range of $84,000 - $176,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a target annual bonus eligibility of 8% of base salary, as part of AGCO's total rewards program.


Your Workplace

This role follows AGCO's on-site work model, primarily working from the Tremont, IL or Louisville, CO location 4 days per week to support collaboration and teamwork.
