Step into a pivotal role supporting early learners as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school community. This onsite contract position is perfectly suited for an educator passionate about making a difference in the lives of PreK and Kindergarten students. You'll work closely with a diverse team, focusing on fostering growth and providing individualized support through well-crafted IEPs and early intervention strategies.
Key Qualifications:
Active Louisiana SPED Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate required
Demonstrated experience with special education procedures and IEP development
Strong foundation in PreK and Kindergarten curriculum and instructional strategies
Keen ability to collaborate and communicate with families, support staff, and administrators
Commitment to maintaining a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and interventions tailored to students’ unique learning needs
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general education teachers and therapists to support holistic student development
Foster meaningful family engagement and provide regular updates on student progress
Maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
This part-time schedule—approximately 4 hours per day, 4 days per week—offers excellent work-life balance, making it ideal for individuals seeking flexibility within the academic calendar. You'll be supported by a dedicated administrative team, all working together to help young learners thrive.
