Assistant Director of Development Services

The Assistant Director serves as the operations project manager for the Development Services team in the division of Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE). The incumbent will manage incoming requests, coordinate daily processes, and collaborate with internal and external customers on requirements, criteria, and accuracy of the output produced. They will also manage and execute constituent data updates and integrity processes through various entry points and manage work‑study employees. Essential Functions Create accurate, segmented lists of constituents for communication and solicitation strategies using various tools and technologies. Use project management software to prioritize, track, and manage daily processes, requests, and special projects. Manage daily processes for donor receipts, donor statements, and other cyclical data processes. Manage constituent data import and update processes between DAE systems. Use tools and technologies to diagnose and resolve issues of data accuracy. Collaborate with IS on an ad‑hoc basis for cyclical data import processes. Train and manage work‑study students. Communicate with campus partners and off‑campus vendors on projects and requirements. Assist with documentation of data entry and use of data standards for DAE. Assist with user training needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications – Competency Statements Accuracy – Perform work accurately and thoroughly. Training – Develop skills in others to bring them to a predetermined standard of work performance. Skills & Abilities Education: Associate’s degree (AA) required; relevant experience may substitute. Experience: Minimum of 1 year using relational databases and/or understanding of non‑profit fundraising. Communication/Language: Intermediate – Read and interpret documents; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups. Math Ability: Add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Google applications, and experience with fundraising and alumni engagement systems. Other Requirements: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; very organized with strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Physical Demands Occasional lifting/carrying of up to 20 lbs; occasional walking; occasional standing; frequent speaking; constant sitting. Responsibilities may involve handling tools for data entry.
