Quality Control Inspector

Job Title Quality Control Inspector Location Brooklyn, NY Schedule Monday-Friday, 7AM-4PM Pay Range $23-$33/hour Job Description We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of rail car components and final assemblies. In this position, you will conduct inspections throughout multiple phases of production, ensuring all parts and assemblies meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude who thrives in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of workmanship and accuracy. Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections on rail car parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering requirements Conduct visual inspections and dimensional checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation Identify non-conforming materials or components and report findings according to established procedures Verify correct installation and assembly of components throughout the production process Accurately document inspection results, findings, and quality records Perform final rail car inspections prior to release Work independently to manage inspection tasks and priorities Follow company safety procedures and quality standards at all times Collaborate with production teams to support continuous improvement and quality initiatives Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Quality Control inspection experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or non-conformances Proficiency in English, both written and verbal Familiarity with Metric measurement systems preferred Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection tasks Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment and lift up to 40 lbs.
