Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students' ability to fully access and succeed in their learning environment. This role focuses on fine motor skills, sensory processing, behavioral regulation, ADLs/IADLs, classroom participation, and functional living skills. The OT will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, collaborate with educational teams, and provide direct therapy services in both academic and non-academic settings. You'll work closely with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure students receive high-quality, educationally based occupational therapy services.

Pay & Benefits:

- Pay range of $63,000 - $67,000 with Summers off!

Qualifications

• Current ODE 5-Year Pupil Services License OR ODE Registration to practice as an OT in Ohio schools.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid Ohio OT license (OTPTAT Board).
• NBCOT certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience working with students with disabilities, including autism and behavioral/communication challenges.
• Knowledge of special education best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct Client Services

• Provide individualized and small-group OT interventions.
• Implement IEP/504 goals and monitor student progress.
• Utilize evidence-based models including Structured Teaching, behavioral inetrventions, and CPI de-escalation.
• Serve as a positive role model for social skills, self-care, and emotional regulation.

- Collaboration & Communication

• Consult with teachers to develop classroom strategies and curriculum modifications.
• Support generalization of skills across school settings.
• Engage families and participate in school events.
• Coordinate with administrators and related service providers.

- Administrative Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and write evaluation reports.
• Develop strength-based, student-centered treatment plans.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and confidential records.
• Manage materials, supplies, and scheduling.

- Quality Assurance & Professional Development

• Ensure compliance with school, state, and federal guidelines.
• Provide professional development for staff and training for families/community partners.
• Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy.

- Additional Duties

• Support sensory rooms and mock apartment spaces.
• Assist with transition planning and task analysis.
• Collaborate with behavior support staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Exposed to a combination of office, school and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to clients with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive. May be exposed to blood or vomit and bodily fluids.
