Step Into a Day at Urban SkyBy 8am, you’re in our North Denver facility reviewing the day’s build plan. On your workbench is a one-of-a-kind stratospheric balloon—lightweight yet far larger than any typical sewn product. You’ll trace and cut large fabric patterns, then create long, continuous seams using our proprietary seaming method. As you progress, you’ll document each step in our quality and manufacturing templates, ensuring traceability from first cut to final assembly.Midday, you shift to adhesive bonding of our unique airtight fabric. Precision matters here—clean edges, even pressure, perfect alignment. Next up: light mechanical assembly to attach plastic fittings and light rigging work to craft custom cord assemblies. You might also build parachutes and related components, prepare balloon kits, or help with batch builds as volume ramps. Our team of engineers, makers, developers, and problem-solvers values candor, inclusion, respect, and empowerment as we build the next chapter of stratospheric technology in Denver.What You’ll HandleFollow detailed work instructions and record each build step using quality and manufacturing templates.Cut large fabric patterns and seam them together with a proprietary method to form long, continuous seams.Perform adhesive bonding of balloon fabric for airtight integrity.Attach plastic fittings through light mechanical assembly.Execute light rigging to produce custom cord assemblies and integrate them with the balloon.Manufacture parachutes and related components.Assemble and prepare balloon kits; assist with batch builds and high‑volume production when needed.Support inventory management and help assemble/operate test equipment.Contribute to general shop upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance tasks.What You BringU.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.Must live within commuting distance of Denver, CO, and hold a valid Colorado Driver’s License.Comfort thriving in a small, collaborative team with strong organizational skills to match shifting production priorities.Ability to read and apply work instructions, BOMs, and quality documentation with exceptional attention to detail.Hands-on mindset for repetitive production; able to lift up to 50 lbs.Availability for variable day shifts (8–12 hours), Monday–Friday, with frequent changes typical of a startup.Willing to work required overtime (typically 30–40% of annual hours) and sit/stand/perform assembly for up to 12 hours per shift.Bonus PointsBackground in aerospace, manufacturing, production, assembly, or similar hands-on technical work.Familiarity with inventory control systems.Experience in a startup or fast-paced manufacturing setting.Compensation & BenefitsThis is a full-time, hourly role paying $25–$27 per hour based on experience. We are required to post this salary range per Colorado law.
