The Fifty/50 Group is looking for a talented and driven General Manager to lead one of our newest restaurant openings in the heart of Chicago's Loop.

Opening at 111 S. Wacker Drive in early 2027, this new concept brings a fresh approach to Midwestern, farm-to-table dining. Designed to serve the energy of downtown Chicago throughout the day, the restaurant will transition naturally from business lunches and grab-and-go to happy hour, dinner and private gatherings. The space will feature an open kitchen, prominent bar, approximately 90 interior seats and a significant seasonal patio.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a restaurant from the beginning—building the team, establishing the culture and operating standards, and leading a business projected to generate approximately $3 million in first-year revenue.

We're particularly interested in the person who is ready for their next step.

You may currently be a strong Assistant General Manager or senior restaurant leader within one of Chicago's leading hospitality groups. You've worked in a high-performing restaurant, understand what excellent operations and hospitality look like, and have learned from great operators.

Now you're ready for your own restaurant.

The right person is ambitious without ego, comfortable with accountability, financially minded, passionate about developing people, and genuinely enjoys being on the floor with their team and guests.

• Lead the pre-opening process, including hiring, training, systems implementation and opening execution
• Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing management and hourly team
• Build a culture centered around hospitality, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
• Own restaurant financial performance, including sales, labor, COGS and controllable expenses
• Drive lunch, happy hour, dinner, private event and patio business
• Maintain exceptional standards for food, beverage, service and facility presentation
• Work closely with the culinary team and Fifty/50 Group leadership to continually improve the business
• Be a visible, hands-on leader who sets the standard for the restaurant every day

We care more about where you've operated and what you've accomplished than whether you've already held the GM title.

Ideal candidates will have several years of progressive restaurant management experience, including significant experience as an AGM or equivalent leader in a high-volume, full-service restaurant. Experience within a respected Chicago restaurant group or similarly structured hospitality organization is strongly preferred.

You should be comfortable reading a P&L, managing labor and COGS, coaching managers, building teams and holding high standards—while never losing sight of the guest experience.

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

The General Manager must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

• Work extended and/or irregular hours as business needs require, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Remain in a stationary position and move throughout the restaurant for extended periods during a shift, including frequent standing and walking.
• Frequently bend, reach, stoop and use stairs as needed to oversee restaurant operations.
• Safely lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds in connection with normal restaurant operations.
• Work in a fast-paced restaurant environment with exposure to kitchen heat, varying temperatures, noise and crowded service areas.
• Communicate effectively with employees, guests, vendors and company leadership and use standard restaurant technology and administrative systems.
