Every other weekend availability is required. Description: The competent nurse in a clinical setting practices independently. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of situations. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to manage long-range goals. Continues to develop coping strategies for clinical nursing contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies as a leader. Consistent with nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Follows appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
