Inpatient Occupational Therapist

Location Zanesville, Ohio

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Daytime schedule on Acute Inpatient. Options available for five 8-hour shifts (8:00am-4:30pm) or four 10-hour shifts (7:00am-5:30pm) with weekend coverage expectations.

Job Description The Occupational Therapist will provide assessment and therapeutic services to patients in a Level 3 Trauma Center, handling cases that include orthopedic, neurosurgical, neurological, and cardiovascular diagnoses. The primary patient demographic includes Adults, Geriatrics, and young adults with medically complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on rehabilitation and recovery.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
• Document patient progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on home care and adaptive strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Ohio licensure and registry required; must be active at the time of application.
• BLS certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years of Acute Care experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.
• Familiarity with orthopedic and joint replacement post-operative care preferred.
